On Tuesday, June 23, 2020 Young Water Professionals, Denmark (YWPDK) organised a webinar with the title ‘Working in the Water Sector’.
At the webinar, five professionals shared their experiences, good advices and their path that led them to where they are today. The intention of this webinar was to give the more than 80 participants that might be interested or considering a career in the water sector a better idea about the works of the professions within this branch. Danish companies from both, public and private sector, such as Liqtech, Envidan, Silhorko-Eurowater, Novozymes and Lemvig Water Utility were represented by their employees and CEOs during the event.
YWPDK is an organization that provides a free and non-profit network platform for young and new water professionals in the Danish water sector. They focus, among other things, on knowledge sharing, competence development and international cooperation. It is an official part of the International Water Association (IWA).
Lars Nørgård Holmegaard, CEO of Lemvig Water Utility and Climatorium, was one of the speakers at this webinar. He put a great emphasis on the readiness for climate related solutions that can help tackling the problem of climate change and the need for future professionals in the water sector. As he highlighted – NO WATER, NO LIFE!
